"A banda de rock gótico Urban Tales criou a canção ALIVE, colocou-a em CD e no próximo dia 19 de Novembro vai oferecê-la, publicamente, à Federação Nacional de Doenças Raras (FEDRA), na FNAC do Chiado, às 19H00.
Esta ideia, que nasceu há quase um ano - através do pedido da presidente da FEDRA, Paula Brito, e Costa para que os Urban Tales criassem o hino da associação - concretiza-se agora.
Assim, no próximo dia 19 de Novembro, será feita ma palestra sobre as doenças raras e os problemas de quem vive com estas patologias – doentes e familiares – dando-se depois a conhecer à comunicação social e a todos os convidados presentes o hino ALIVE, através da actuação, ao vivo, desta banda de Lisboa.
Todo o dinheiro conseguido com o CD – que vai ser posto à venda por 5 euros – reverte integralmente para a FEDRA e para os doentes vítimas de doenças raras."

De salientar é a presença em todo o momento da Jornalista Tania Ferreira da Revista Arte Sonora que se deslocou aos Açores para cobrir todo o evento e momentos de descontração da banda Urban Tales.
A banda que se prepara para lançar no mercado o single ALIVE, incluídas em algumas surpresas, volta ao estúdio para terminar a pré-produção do seu segundo albúm que será gravado em meados de Janeiro. Contudo a banda não para e o tão aguardado videoclip do 4º single "Stronger", realizado pelo aclamado realizador Amândio Bastos (Da Weasel, Xutos e Pontapés), encontra-se em fase final de edição.

O conhecido bar açoriano TUKÁTULÁ, situado no areal de Santa Bárbara, Ribeira Grande, orgulha-se de vos convidar para o próximo evento a realizar dia 31 de Agosto; Live Summer Fest 08.

NEW REVIEW

Busy times in here...so much things to do!
We are happy to see "Prison Inside" in MTV´s Headbangers Ball and in CC, to listen "Farewell" on the radio...what a ride!
We are also delighted with the latest review that came to our hands, from Metal Temple...man, WOW...check for yourselves:

Last year, one of our newest members Harry reviewed a demo by a Portuguese band called URBAN TALES. They say better late than ever, so the band's debut album, which was actually released in 2007, reached my hands only a few days ago. Even though I am not a big fan of the melodic side of Metal, "Diary Of A No" was a good chance for me to take a small break from the extreme Metal albums I had to review lately. So, here we go with "Diary Of A No" and then back to the pit...
The band was formed in late 2004, when Marcos Cesar (the band's frontman) left SOUL DESPAIR to form his own band. He gathered some musicians with whom he could share his musical dream and two years later URBAN TALES released their "Urban Tales" demo, a release that earned them their contract with the Greek label Burning Star Records. Without wasting time, the band prepared for the release of its high anticipated debut album, something that took place only one year after the release of their demo CD.
So, what are these guys all about? I suppose that I have got the answer for this question after I listened to "Diary Of A No" (what a clever title by the way) for some times. URBAN TALES play a catchy kind of melodic Goth Metal/Rock, which resembles to bands like CHARON, HIM and TO/DIE/FOR. Cesar's vocals are powerful and fit perfectly the catchy melodic choruses. The rhythm section is simple yet solid as a rock and the leads are really good for this kind of music. URBAN TALES are actually offering us a more than good debut album packed with some nice tunes and a great production that can stand proudly next to bands like POISONBLACK and the rest of the Finnish melodic Metal scene.
What if they are Portuguese? These guys should definitely be born in a colder and "darker" country, where their music belongs. URBAN TALES came out of nowhere amazing me with their easy listening music, even if it is not my cup of tea. However, since I like listening to some bands of this style, I believe that URBAN TALES can be the next big thing if they keep working like that.
Note: There is also a limited edition with a bonus DVD that contains some bonus audio stuff, two video clips, a documentary, as well as some extras like images, videos, sponsors and the band's greetings to various people (which is actually the booklet's "thanks to" section)."

New Video Premiere
After a GREAT gig in Seixal, last March 6th, we are glad to announce the premiere of our NEW clip...
The band didn’t reveal the name of the music video that will be premiered on Hardsound TV website next April, 1st. The video was directed by Ricardo Capristano and stars the well known theater actress Ana Rita Foto as the special guest.

Ishould say this influence is quite obvious at their debut album "Diaryof a No", which is in melodic gothic metal of Finnish type. Another excelent review for "Diary of a no"...
"Diary of a no", Burning Star 2007
Quem acompanha de perto as actividades deste Via Nocturna (blog e emissão radiofónica) já se deve ter apercebido que as reviews, por uma questão de politica editorial, se reportam sempre aos trabalhos do ano civil em questão. Então, a questão que se pode colocar é pertinente: porque a review de um álbum de 2007? Trata-se, de facto, de uma excepção. Precisamente a excepção que confirma a regra. E tem um motivo. Ou melhor, vários: o facto de se tratar de uma banda nacional, o facto de ter editado este trabalho em finais de 2007 e só agora ter chegado à mesa de trabalho de VN e, muito principalmente, por se tratar de um dos melhores (se não mesmo o melhor) álbum do ano anterior mas que, infelizmente, chegou demasiado tarde para entrar nas contas finais do ano. Esta estreia (se excluirmos a demo de 2006) deve deixar, de facto, muito boa gente de queixo caído. Basta ouvir um minuto do tema de abertura, Prison Inside, para percebermos que estamos na presença de uma banda de eleição, com uma genialidade rara, demonstrando, para trabalho de estreia, uma maturidade invejável. Tudo predicados que, ao longo do trabalho, se vão confirmando e acentuando. Nota-se, aqui, que todos os pormenores são pensados e que a banda, realmente, trabalhou muito em cada tema para que eles apresentassem a brilhante roupagem que apresentam. As harmonias melódicas e melancólicas da guitarra só tem comparação com os fantásticos dotes vocais de Marcos César, um verdadeiro vocalista em todos os aspectos: colocação, timbre, feeling, afinação. E o que salta à vista é que o metal melódico com alguma inspiração gótica, nomeadamente ao nível grave da voz (por vezes a lembrar Fernando Ribeiro), não estagna. Por isso, a fronteira do progressivo chega a ser tocada e ultrapassada muito por culpa das estruturas complexas e em forma de espiral como as canções se desenrolam. Destaques para Prison Inside, In Purity, Fade Away e Crawl num conjunto de temas muito homogéneo e com enorme potencial para colocar o nome de Urban Tales no mapa mundial do metal. Seria completamente merecido. (ACC) -
