A minha gratidão!
Que bem me faz, agora, o mal que me fizeste!
– Mais forte, mais sereno, e livre, e descuidado...Sem ironia, amor:
– Obrigado, obrigado
Por tudo o que me deste!

Interview with Marcos

Hey guys!!

The new album is almost done...and what a blast!!!be aware!

Today we bring you an interview with Marcos, done by a fan!
Enjoy!

"We used the proximity that we have with the band as an advantage to phone directly to frontman Marcos Cesar and to make some little questions concerning the new album (being recorded at this moment) and the future of the band. Although the improper hour, the mentor of the UT took off time of its daily coffee (exactly before entering in the studio), and answered quickly to some questions:

1 - How are the recordings for the new album going?
Marcos - Wonderfully well...with no relevant delays on our schedule and always with a cool vibe and environment...

2 - The new album, does it already have a name?
Marcos - Several...but none of those consensual!

3 - What are the main diferences between "Diary of a no" and this new work?
Marcos - (big pause)...It will be, without a doubt, a heavier, agressive album, but it will sound like Urban Tales.

4 - How are your expectactions?
Marcos - Man...with the results we´re having in this recording phase, with half the work done, maybe THE WORLD (laugh!)!No, really...we are really really proud of this new album...it outstands the first one, no doubt...and the know that "Diary" was a huge first album...

5 - Are there any names for the songs?maybe a picked single?
Marcos - No for both of the questions...the titles are ridiculous, without any sense...just work in progress names...as for the single, as long as we were recording, Espinha (the producer) said "This is the single man, now this is it!!!!" (laughs)...We..ll wait and see...but we have a lot of options!

6 - Videoclip?
Marcos - We have some ideas and some things going on...we..ll have news in a near future...

7 - And gigs?when wil we see Urban Tales live frequently??
Marcos - Don..t know...it doesn..t depend on me or the band...it depends on a lot of people and conjectures and so many other things...We..ll wait and see! What I know is that we have a powerful and full of quality set list...the band also elevated the task and are using some new things live that raise the quality bar...

8 - Wanna get into that question more deeply?
Marcos - No no...you will see what I..m talking about...

9 - Message for the Urban Tales fans?
Marcos - Thank you for believing, we won..t disapoint you, no doubt about that!See you real soon!

Interview by UT BLOODY FAN"

Here it is, words by Marcos in person...stay tuned for some news!

Urban Tales in Mick Mercer´s book "MUSIC TO DIE FOR"

Hey guys!

The brand new book from Mick Mercer features Urban Tales, check it out!

"Since Mick Mercer's acclaimed 21st Century Goth book was published in 2002, the MySpace internet phenomenon has helped fuel a worldwide explosion of related music.

Nut as well as adding countries to the musical map, the pot-Goth scene has resulted in a bewildering variety of musical sub-genres. This book is intended to be the ultimate resource to make sense of the chaos, covering the fields of Ambient, Cabaret, Noir, Deathrock, Goth, Gothic Metal, Horror, Punk, Melodramatic Song, Pos-Punk & Psychobilly.

Packed with discographical information, web addresses line-ups and often contributions from the bands themselves, this is the first edition of a book that will be turned to again & again & will undoubtedly appear in new editions as the years pass.

It is also copiously illustrated with band photos - a crucial component when the visual image is so important.

Mick Mercer is the authority on all things Got and post-Goth. His previous books have been renowned for his combination of encyclopaedic knowledge and opinionated writing style.

Music To Die For will fill a niche on music fan' bookcases alongside Cherry Red's previous genre-defining directories 'The Day The Country Died', 'No More Heroes' & 'Burning Britain'"

What can we say about that;)??

NEWS

Heys guys...

Here a new media comunication from the UT management:

"Urban Tales with RIPE

The Urban Tales joined the most famous portuguese artists on the RIPE agency's catalogue - www.ripe-espectaculos.com.

In the end of 2004 Marcos decides to leave Soul Despair and form his own musical project; so, in the beginning of 2005, URBAN TALES is born, influenced by a variety of acts, which includes Anathema, Paradise Lost, Charon, Entwine, among others.

With a clear musical vision and all the members assembled, the band starts the recording of a pre demo, which gave them the opportunity to work with the talented and well know director Ricardo Capristano: after hear the band´s music, Ricardo invited Urban Tales to be part of the soundtrack to the dvd “Mais1”, a film that includes the most awesome images of surf together with some of the most promising bands in the Portuguese metal scene (like The Temple, SK6, Fiona@Forty, Urban Tales, and so on...).

After that, and with the path of their sound and uniqueness well marked, Urban Tales decide to record the official demo, Urban Tales (2006)... and that was it! Huge acceptance by the critics and the public, massive airplay, a videoclip for In purity, numerous awards (which included revelation band of 2006 and the inclusion of the demo in some of the “best albums of 2006” list) and a contract deal with Burning Star, all at once!

The demo also gave Urban Tales the title of one of the most exciting and rocking goth metal acts of the planet, creating such a vibe and a huge expectaction on what to come next!

After months of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, Burning Star released the first album of Urban Tales, “Diary of a no”, in November 2007, and, AGAIN, the expectations were pulverized... the album was released worldwide and SOLD OUT... it was acclaimed by the media, with expressions such as “... unique...”, “... the album of 2007...”, “... superb...”, “...MASTERPIECE!...”; the videos that promoted the album, “Farewell” and “Prison inside”, got massive airplay on MTV Headbangers ball; both of the singles got massive airplay during months in Portuguese national radios (and in metal radios all over the world)...

The music, the artwork, the production, the feeling that Marcos voice transmited, the wall of guitars, the power of the rhythm section, the beauty of the keyboards... all of that was praised and the reception of the audience was huge.

And all of that on the first record!!

As the new year starts, Urban Tales and their album were recognized in a great number of polls as best newcomers, best metal act and best album in 2007, giving them and “Diary of a no” a well deserved prize and acclaim.

During 2008, the band is invited to write the anthem for the 1st Portuguese Federation of Rare Desiases (FEDRA). The ALIVE multimedia CD is then created, containing 3 musics, pictures and a videoclip, and it sold out in just 40 minuts on the release day at FNAC, Lisbon. The hit single hits major radio stations like RCP and Best Rock FM, and TV stations such as RTP and TVI, along with massive reports on national newspappers and magazines.

“Urban Tales” are now recording a brand new album, due to be released on June 2009."

News and some really funny shit...

Hey guys!

A lot happening, as usual...with the promotion of Alive on the road, lots of tv, radios and magazines, the pre production of our second album DONE (Yes, its true...) and the studio sessions already on track (Yes, we´re in the studio recording a bunch of fu**ing great anthems man!!!) we´re a little bit out of time...but you can expect some great news and updates about the upcoming things...be patient friends!

Here´s the funny shit,lol...enjoy!

Yeap... Urban Tales lost it... Here is some footage (extremely rare) of the Portuguese band in their passage through Azores...

A small description:

Place - Some event where a DJ was passing techno music... But, that kind of music so...
Jota (the drummer) - is the one who never stops... He tried to dance or... Whatever is that...
Johny - well, he was drunk all of the days we were there, so... You can imagine
Jon Van Dave - tried to be cool, he tried...
Tiago - the smart one that was behind the camera filming
Bertrand - our cameraman... well, he had something but that wasn't the worst he did in those days...
Rui Pulga - He just wanted to party....
Marcos - well, he pitty the fool... he..s just stupid...

The band is really sad cause in all of the days, Tânia, the reporter from "Arte Sonora", was there seeing all...

But, bottom line, to people don't say we are really depressed persons, here it goes:

URBAN TALES LIKE YOU NEVER HAVE SEEN BEFORE... And will never see again....

LOL...jeeeeeezzuzzz...what a bunch of asses....

cheers
